The Data Analyst is responsible for implementing a fluid, end-to-end process for how data flows through the organization and for developing data structures that meet the agreed upon data architecture and models.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Data Analysis: working closely with Equum’s Clinical Leadership, including the Chief Quality Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Innovation Officer, the Data Analyst will assist in collecting, organizing and analyzing healthcare data (clinical performance, quality assurance, outcomes, etc) to support Equum’s internal Quality Assurance and Performance Review processes.
Collect, analyze and interpret healthcare data (clinical performance, quality assurance, outcomes, etc); coordinate with appropriate team member(s) to develop quality of care measurements and tools. Manage data collection processes.
Identify trends and patterns of practice, assist Clinical Leadership in preparing reports and dashboards (i.e. Tableau, etc.) to effectively run our Quality Assurance program.
Act as the main point of contact between Equum’s functional departments (Clinical, Sales, Operations, IT, HR, Finance & Marketing) and our client interfaces (Clinical Leadership, Credentialing Verification Officer, Medical Staff Office, IT, etc.)
Commercial Data Analysis: working closely with Equum’s Commercial Leadership, including the SVP Growth and SVP Marketing, the Data Analyst will assist in collection company data that support customer-facing presentations and reports and will work to develop KPIs and other measures of ROI that the company uses in commercial presentations.
Prepare data sets and establish KPIs to tie clinical performance & performance data to financial outcome
Develop data solutions that can be made reusable, automated and standardized for data management and report generation.
Customize client-facing reporting packages as directed by Commercial Leadership that can serve as a customer-centric value-add in the marketplace.
Operational Data Analysis: working closely with the SVP Operations, the Data Analyst will perform various Business Intelligence data projects to ensure the company’s operation performance is accurately measured against stated goals.
Provider Onboarding: Develop data systems and dashboard tools to track the process of recruiting, onboarding and activating clinical personnel.
Customer Activation: Track the sales-to-operation handoff to ensure customer goals are met and and process gaps are easily identified and addressed
Executive Dashboards: Prepare custom dashboards for the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors to ensure real-time business performance is openly communicated and actionable.
Qualifications And Minimum Requirements

Excellent oral, written communication and problem-solving skills required.
Minimum 5 years of data analysis in a hospital, health system or healthcare-related organization is required.
A general understanding of health systems, healthcare financial analysis, governmental reimbursement methodologies, health care plan design, and medical claims payment process is preferred, but not required.
Excellent quantitative, analytical, database management (Access) and spreadsheet (Excel) utilization skills required with strong orientation to detail.
Experience with analytics reporting and data interpretation/presentation in healthcare or actuarial environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of SQL and database design.
Experience with extracting data and reports from at least one electronic health record system, preferably EPIC, POLR and Insight would be preferred but not essential.
Advanced Excel skills including the use of conditional formatting, formulas, pivot tables and charts.
Ability to effectively present information to leadership and respond to inquiries.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret health care journals, IS manuals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with only limited standardization.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and collaborate with team members.
Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to take initiative.
Strong ability to work independently and within team setting to achieve outcomes.
Confident working independently.
Bachelor's degree required. Preferred degree in mathematics, computer science, health sciences, healthcare informatics, information systems, statistics, or business preferred from an accredited college.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications required.

Position is in an indoor office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions.
Position includes prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
